Plot Summary: J-14 is a magazine focused on the lives and careers of pop culture stars, from actors and musicians to reality show celebrities. The magazine includes interviews with celebrities, current pop culture news stories, fashion advice, quizes horoscopes and reader's embarrassing stories and questions.
Critical Evaluation: While this magazine doesn't tackle any heavy hitting issues, it seems to be the perfect magazine for teen girls to pick up to read pool side or at the beach. Pop culture has become an important part of teen culture, so it seems logical that a celebrity based magazine would be popular. However, this would be a difficult magazine to keep in stock at the library, because the issues quickly (within a week) becomes outdated, and thus, loses its desirability. With the internet constantly offering the latest updates on celebrity life, I can't imagine back issues of this publication being in high demand.
